NoPixel 5.0 replaced the old hacking minigames with a new set, and because the server launched to a few hundred invited streamers in September 2026, most people have only seen these hacks on stream. This page explains each one: what the screen shows, what you actually have to do, roughly where in the roleplay it turns up, and the one habit that gets people through it. Every hack has a free practice version on this site, rebuilt from player descriptions, so you can run it as many times as you like before you ever see it in a job.

A note on sources. Benchmento is not affiliated with Rockstar Games, NoPixel or any roleplay server, and none of these is the server's code. They are independent recreations of how the minigames play, as described by the people playing them, and job placements below are what players report rather than anything official. Exact timings and difficulty on a server can differ from what is here.
The ten hacks
ATM Lockpick
What it is. A bar you push up by mashing a key. Let go and it falls, and it falls faster on each of three phases. The pick is bypassed when the third bar fills.
Where you meet it. ATM and small-safe jobs; it is the entry-level hack most new characters meet first.
How to pass it. Never stop pressing. There is no momentum to coast on, so any pause is progress lost, and the third phase punishes a rate under about nine presses a second. Practise the atm lockpick →
Firewall Dodge
What it is. Seven lanes. Rows of packets fall with six lanes filled and one open; you move left and right to stay in the gap and survive twenty seconds while the speed ramps.
Where you meet it. Reported on network and server-room breaches, usually as the first step before a data hack.
How to pass it. Watch the row behind the row. There are always two in view; the lower one is already decided, so your eyes belong on the upper one. Practise the firewall dodge →
Signal Beat
What it is. A rhythm game. Notes travel in on three tracks and you hit A, S or D as each reaches the line. Twenty-four hits before six misses, with doubles later in the sequence.
Where you meet it. Players describe it on shipment and cargo breaches — the "shipment breach" hack.
How to pass it. Press when the note reaches the line, not before. Most fails are early presses, and an empty press counts as a miss. Practise the signal beat →
Hex Lock
What it is. Reels of hex codes scroll one at a time; each has a highlighted target you have to stop on the line. A miss resets every reel. The practice version runs seven reels with three misses allowed.
Where you meet it. Door and terminal locks; it is the one people mean when they say "the reel hack."
How to pass it. Press when the code above the target crosses the line. Your reaction time lands the press on the target itself. Practise the hex lock →
Memory Diff
What it is. Two grids of hex values, almost identical. Four cells differ and you have forty seconds and two strikes to find them.
Where you meet it. Reported on data-theft and evidence jobs, where the hack stands in for comparing memory dumps.
How to pass it. Read in pairs — cell one on both grids, then cell two. Reading a whole row of one grid and then the other is how you lose your place. Practise the memory diff →
Signal Path
What it is. A grid of pipe tiles, every one rotated at random. Click to rotate until a connected path runs from the source on the left to the destination on the right. Three grids, fifty seconds each.
Where you meet it. Utility and infrastructure jobs — rerouting power or signal is the in-fiction framing.
How to pass it. Follow the light. Tiles connected to the source glow; the only tile that needs your attention is the one where the glow stops. Practise the signal path →
Port Sweep
What it is. A wave sweeps across a grid of twenty-four ports, lighting each green or red for a moment. Then you probe the three that showed open, from memory. Three sweeps, each faster.
Where you meet it. Network intrusion jobs, usually paired with the firewall.
How to pass it. Encode positions as the wave passes — "row two, columns one and five" — rather than trying to hold a picture you never fully see. Practise the port sweep →
Carrier Tune
What it is. Two waveforms on a scope. Adjust your carrier's frequency and amplitude until it sits on the signal, then hold for half a second to lock. Five locks in forty seconds.
Where you meet it. Radio and comms jobs; players describe it on tower and dispatch hacks.
How to pass it. Frequency first, then amplitude, and tap single steps once you are close. Holding a key through the tolerance window overshoots and resets the lock timer. Practise the carrier tune →
Traceroute
What it is. A ten-by-six network of hex-labelled nodes with links between some of them and red IDS nodes scattered through. Hop from SRC to DST inside a hop allowance without landing on detection. Thirty seconds.
Where you meet it. Described on tracking and locate jobs — following a connection back to its origin.
How to pass it. Find the seven IDS nodes first, then read the route. They are the only thing that ends the run outright, and they sit on the paths that look most direct. Practise the traceroute →
Cipher Lock
What it is. Ten six-letter words buried in symbol noise, one of them the password. Each wrong try returns a likeness — how many letters match in position — and you have four attempts to deduce the right one.
Where you meet it. High-value locks and encrypted terminals; it is the one that rewards thinking over reflexes.
How to pass it. Treat the first try as a probe. Whatever likeness it returns eliminates every key that does not share exactly that many characters with it, and that is usually most of the list. Practise the cipher lock →
Dong
What it is. Not a hack but the arcade game on the hospital computers: pong-style survival against an AI, played with T-shaped paddles that lean as they move. Score past the AI to add a ball; let one past you and it is over.
Where you meet it. The hospital, between patients — and on stream, where players compete for the top of the in-game leaderboard.
How to pass it. Move into the ball — a moving T drags the return with it — and aim steep returns at the corner the AI is not covering. Play Dong →
Which hack is hardest?
By the percentile curves on the practice versions, the widest spread between average and strong players is on the lockpick and the hex lock — both are motor tasks where a small skill gap turns into a large time gap. The cipher lock and the traceroute are the opposite: nearly everyone can finish them, and the difference is whether you read before you act. Signal beat and firewall dodge sit in between and reward repetition more than anything else.
How to practise them
Run each hack until the percentile stops moving, then move on to the one you are worst at. Every practice page keeps your best on your device and shows a trend once you have a few runs, so you can see which hacks are actually improving. The hub page has a comparison table of the skill each one tests, which is a decent guide to where your time is best spent.
Common questions
Are these the real NoPixel 5.0 hacks?
They are independent recreations of how each hack plays, built from player descriptions. The mechanics match closely enough that the skill carries over; the exact timings, sizes and difficulty on the server can differ. Benchmento is not affiliated with Rockstar Games or NoPixel.
Which jobs use which hack?
The placements above are what players report on stream and in community discussion, not anything official, and servers change them. Treat them as a rough guide to which hacks are worth practising for the kind of roleplay you do.
Do I need to be whitelisted to practise?
No. That is the point of the practice versions — the server is invite-only during the 5.0 beta, and the hacks only appear mid-job, so this is the only place most people can run them on their own.
Is there a hack missing from this list?
Players also describe a handshake and a keyline hack in 5.0. Those are not built yet; the ten above are the ones with practice versions. This page will be updated as the set grows.
