What's new

Every change to the site, newest first: new games, improvements and bug fixes. Found something broken or have an idea? Tell us and it ends up on this list.

New

  • Intercept, the newest NoPixel 5.0 hack, the day it arrived on the server: catch the live key on a 3×3 grid before its one-second window closes. It's in the Hack Gauntlet too.
  • Icons across your stats dashboard. Every game and every domain now has its own, so the page is easier to scan.
  • This page, so you can see what changed and when.

Improved

  • Firewall Dodge: red firewall walls, a smaller green block that's a little more forgiving, and a payoff for every wave: sparks and a +1 for each dodge, close calls when you slip in at the last moment, a combo counter, a final five-second countdown, and a proper ending whether you breach it or get caught.
  • Signal Beat has a new look: colour-coded tracks, diamond notes and a hit zone, with a burst for a clean hit, an amber pop for a close one and a red flash when a note gets past you.
  • NoPixel hack results now keep the green terminal look instead of switching back to a white card.
  • After a hack, Try next suggests another hack and the Hack Gauntlet, instead of sending you off to the benchmark tests.
  • The NoPixel hacks guide has jump links to each hack and a button to practise each one.
  • Pages load faster. The stylesheet is about a third smaller.
  • Tidied up the writing across the site.

Fixed

  • After an update, a game could show with an old layout until you refreshed. Every update now loads fresh files straight away.
  • A stylesheet error left over from the retired card games.
  • Removed code from retired games that no page used any more.
  • The floating button covered the last link in the footer on desktop.

New

  • Hack Gauntlet: all ten NoPixel hacks back to back in a random order, one combined time, with a split for every hack.
  • Dong, the hospital arcade game. T-shaped paddles against an AI; score past it and it fires another ball back at you.

Improved

  • ATM Lockpick: the E key in the middle of the ring now presses down with every key press or tap.
  • Dong: smaller paddles, so rallies take real skill, and the site's normal colours.

Fixed

  • Firewall Dodge: the open lane in each row wasn't showing.
  • Signal Path: the corner pipes weren't drawing.
  • The score on hack result screens sat too close to the top of the card.

New

  • Traceroute: route through a 10×6 network around the red IDS nodes.
  • Cipher Lock: find the password among ten words using likeness clues.
  • Memory Diff, Signal Path, Port Sweep and Carrier Tune.
  • The NoPixel hacks now run on a green terminal screen.
  • Every NoPixel 5.0 hack explained: a guide to what each hack is and how to pass it.

Improved

  • Port Sweep: the scan now sweeps across the grid like a wave instead of flashing everything at once.

New

  • Today's workout on the homepage: three tests a day, tracked as a set.
  • Your stats dashboard now shows domain scores, trends and insights from your own runs.
  • Results can be compared with your own recent runs (vs you), not just with everyone else.

New

  • A NoPixel 5.0 section with the first four hacks: ATM Lockpick, Firewall Dodge, Signal Beat and Hex Lock. Each was tuned over several rounds of play-testing.

Changed

  • Bank Buster is retired, since NoPixel 5.0 replaced the hacks it was based on. Its old links now lead to the new section.

Improved

  • New link previews for the daily games and benchmark tests pages, so shared links look right.

New

  • Finishing any daily game now keeps your streak going, not only Daily Word.
  • Every daily result shows your streak and a countdown to the next puzzle.
  • Returning players can add Benchmento to their home screen.

Improved

  • Share is now the main button on daily results.

Fixed

  • Blank boxes where ads hadn't loaded yet no longer take up space on the page.

New

  • Word search now has 50 themes, from dinosaurs and pirates to every season and holiday.
  • A guide to why cutting a shape in half by eye is so hard, linked from Split Test.
  • A comparison page for people coming from other click speed tests.

Improved

  • Your stats page was redesigned: scores first, a small chart of recent runs for each test, and clearer sections.

Fixed

  • The stats page layout could collapse after loading.

Improved

  • New icons for every game, redrawn in one matching style.
  • Bank Buster: the mode buttons moved above the play area, Visual Memory started at 17 squares, and the vault gained 4, 5 and 6 card options.

Fixed

  • Spacebar Speed stopped responding to the spacebar after you clicked one of the time buttons above the game.
  • Number Memory started at 7 digits instead of 1.

New

  • Benchmento launched, with reaction time, click speed, aim, typing, spacebar and memory tests, puzzles like Sudoku, 2048, Minesweeper and Solitaire, and Daily Word.
  • Today's Bench and the Benchmento Performance Index (BPI), a single score across everything you play.
  • Split Test got a daily mode, one shared puzzle a day, after it was played live on xQc's stream.
  • New tests: Dot Count, Color Match, Balance Point, Hidden Clock, Drift Test and the Vault Mini Game.
  • Bank Buster, a set of GTA RP style challenges built on the memory tests.
  • Guides to good click speed and reaction times, the chimp test, and a comparison with Human Benchmark.

Changed

  • The card games (blackjack, baccarat and roulette) were taken down for now.
