How word searches work
The breakfast list is the whole menu: pancakes, waffles, an omelette, porridge, cereal, a croissant, toast and juice. It is a warm, familiar grid and a popular one for early-morning solving, which is presumably when most people search for it.
CROISSANT and OMELETTE are the long anchors, and OMELETTE's double T is easy to spot. PANCAKE and BACON both carry a K or a C-O-N ending that helps. JUICE has a J, which is the fastest anchor on the board despite the word being short.
The grid regenerates every time you load the page, so the same theme never gives you the same arrangement twice. Words run in all eight directions including backwards and diagonally, and your fastest completion time for each grid size is saved in your browser.

How to find words faster
- Find the longest breakfast words first. CROISSANT is the longest entry at 9 letters, and long words have far fewer possible placements than short ones. Clearing them early removes a disproportionate share of the grid.
- Target the uncommon letters in this list. The rare letters present here are J, K, W, Y. Each one appears only a handful of times in the random filler, so finding the letter usually hands you the word.
- Leave BAGEL until last. At 5 letters it is the shortest entry, which means it has the most possible positions on the grid and hides best. Short words are always the least efficient thing to hunt first.
- Read every candidate in both directions. Roughly half the placements in any grid are reversed. If an area looks empty, try reading it backwards before moving on.

Fourteen, covering the sweet and the savoury sides of the plate. The ten by ten grid may not fit the longest, and the word list shows only what was placed.
Which breakfast word is hardest to find?
TOAST. Five letters, a repeated T, and no rare letter. BAGEL is next for similar reasons. JUICE is short too, but the J makes it easy.
Why is it omelette rather than omelet?
The site uses British spelling. Both are correct; the longer form is simply the one used here, and the double T at the end gives you something to hunt for.
