1 Second Click Test

Click as fast as you can for 1 second. The timer starts on your first click.

What this test measures

One second is the shortest useful window and measures something quite specific: your peak motor rate with no endurance component whatsoever. Whatever your finger can do at full effort for a single beat is the entire score.

This mode has by far the highest variance of any duration. With only six or seven clicks in the whole run, one mistimed press changes the result by more than 10 percent. Take the best of five attempts rather than reading anything into a single try.

Typical results run 7 to 9 clicks per second, noticeably higher than the same person's five second score. Above 10 on a one second burst is fast but not remarkable, because the window is too short for fatigue to separate people.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good CPS on a 1 second test?

Typical is 7 – 9 clicks per second on this duration, and 10+ is a good result. Those figures apply to 1 seconds specifically and not to any other length.

Why does my 1 second score differ from my 2 second score?

Because the two lengths measure different capacities. A 1 second run leaves no room for fatigue, so it reads close to your peak motor rate. Typical on 2 seconds is different, which is why each duration carries its own scoring curve here.

How many total clicks is that over 1 second?

At the typical rate you would land roughly 7 to 9 clicks in the full run. The result screen shows your exact total alongside the rate.

Does the timer start when the page loads?

No, it starts on your first click. Reading this page costs you nothing and the full 1 seconds is available for clicking.
