How word searches work
The garden list is practical rather than pretty: a trowel, compost, mulch, weeding, watering, a planter and a greenhouse, with lavender and a rosebush for colour. It suits anyone who actually gardens, and it is a good companion to the flowers theme for those who prefer the tools to the blooms.
GREENHOUSE and FERTILISER are the ten-letter anchors. MULCH and HEDGE are the short ones; HEDGE in particular has a repeated E that reads as filler. There is no rare letter in this list, which makes it a slightly harder grid than most.

How to find words faster
- Find the longest garden words first. GREENHOUSE is the longest entry at 10 letters, and long words have far fewer possible placements than short ones. Clearing them early removes a disproportionate share of the grid.
- Target the uncommon letters in this list. The rare letters present here are V, W. Each one appears only a handful of times in the random filler, so finding the letter usually hands you the word.
- Leave HEDGE until last. At 5 letters it is the shortest entry, which means it has the most possible positions on the grid and hides best. Short words are always the least efficient thing to hunt first.
- Read every candidate in both directions. Roughly half the placements in any grid are reversed. If an area looks empty, try reading it backwards before moving on.

Fourteen, covering tools, tasks and a few plants. On the ten by ten grid the longest may not fit, and the list shows only the words actually placed.
Which garden word is hardest?
HEDGE. Five letters with a repeated E and no rare letter. This whole list has no J, K, Q, X or Z in it, which makes every word blend into the filler more than usual.
Why is it fertiliser and not fertilizer?
The site uses British spelling. Both are correct; the S form is simply the one used here, and it means there is no Z in the grid to anchor on.
